Job summary

MNP Winnipeg is seeking a Bookkeeper to support the ease Cloud Accounting Services practice with full cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting for a diverse client base.

Using cloud platforms like QuickBooks Online and Xero, you will deliver accurate financial reporting and support clients through busy periods, while adhering to deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with cloud accounting software is required.
• Knowledge of GST/PST/HST, payroll taxes and corporate tax is preferred.
• Experience with payroll processing and GST/RST returns is expected.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and processes.

Responsibilities

• Support 15+ clients with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions.
• Enter and reconcile GL accounts, including bank reconciliations and expenses.
• Prepare GST/HST/PST returns and payroll remittances.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to meet deadlines.

As a trusted advisor, you'll use cutting-edge technology to deliver a full suite of services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.

Responsibilities

• Supporting 15+ clients across multiple industries with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions
• Adhere to tight deadlines by developing and maintaining relationships with clients and team members
• Enter and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, sales, expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany accounts
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutions
• Preparation and filing of GST and RST returns
• Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions
• Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments

Skills and Experience

• Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset
• 3-5 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
• Experience working with cloud accounting software is expected
• QBO Plus, QBO Advance, Xero and other application experience is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes
• Understanding of sales taxes (GST, PST, HST), payroll taxes and corporate tax
• Experience working with desktop bookkeeping software is beneficial
