The role involves monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and preparation of CPA-ready year-end packages for two corporations. Ideal candidates will have over 3 years of Canadian bookkeeping experience and be authorized to provide services within Canada. This is a contract role with a preferred minimum term of two years.

Job description
Bookkeeper (Contract - Remote, Canada)

Contract bookkeeper to provide monthly bookkeeping, monthly reconciliations, monthly landlord revenue reporting, annual HST support, and a CPA‑ready year‑end package for two corporations. Work is remote, Canadian‑based only. Engagement follows a clearly defined scope (no audit / no legal / no U.S. filings).

Scope of Services
  • Monthly bookkeeping for two corporations.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank, chequing, and merchant/payment processor accounts (e.g., Square, Stripe).
  • Tracking sales from e‑commerce and the scheduling system and matching to deposits.
  • Monthly revenue report to the landlord.
  • Year‑end financial reporting package for the CPA by October 15 annually.
  • Annual HST filing.
  • Practice in accordance with Canadian GAAP; maintain secure, auditable records.
Exclusions
  • Payroll and remittances.
  • Corporate annual returns or filings.
  • Audit, legal, or U.S. filing services.
  • Compilation engagements and engagement reviews.
Contract Basics
  • Independent contractor invoices monthly at agreed amount.
  • Remote, Canada residents/entities only.
  • Automatic renewal unless notice is given.
  • Preferred minimum contract term: two years.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years Canadian bookkeeping experience.
  • Authorized to provide bookkeeping services in Canada and in good standing with required professional bodies.
  • Experience preparing CPA‑ready year‑end packages.
  • Comfort with multi‑source revenue (e‑commerce + scheduling).
