Job summary

MNP is proudly Canadian. Our Accounting team seeks a Bookkeeper to support clients with a full suite of services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.

You will set up client files, maintain GL accounts, prepare payroll remittances, and collaborate with clients and teams to resolve issues, contributing to accurate financials and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is an asset.
• 1 year of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
• QBO Basic, QBO Advanced, Xero and other certifications are assets.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes.
• Understanding of sales taxes (GST, PST, HST), payroll taxes and corporate tax.
• Experience with desktop bookkeeping software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for MNP clients.
• Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and WCB transactions.
• Set up client files and assist with budgets and administrative planning.
• Maintain and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, receivables/payables, and intercompany/ POS uploads.
• Identify issues and discrepancies, discuss resolutions with supervisor or engagement partner.
• Communicate with governments regarding information requests and installments.
• Work collaboratively and maintain client and team relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for MNP clients
• Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions
• Set up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planning
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutions
• Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments
• Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and team members

Skills And Experience

• Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset
• 1 year of full cycle bookkeeping experience
• QBO Basic, QBO Advance, Xero and other application certifications are considered an asset
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes
• Understanding of sales taxes (GST, PST, HST), payroll taxes and corporate tax
• Experience working with desktop bookkeeping software is beneficial

The annual salary range for this position is: $40,000 - $60,000
