The Vancouver International Wine Festival—Canada’s premier wine show—aims to produce exciting wine events that inform, educate, and entertain wine enthusiasts and trade professionals worldwide. It also serves as a marketing platform for participating wineries, agents, sponsors, restaurants, and partners, while raising funds for our charity, Bard on the Beach.
Responsibilities:
- Full cycle accounting, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and remittances for one company.
- Preparation of T4s & T4As, filing GST and payroll remittance, Workers Compensation Board reports, and summaries.
- Preparation of monthly finance reports for various departments, posting journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Distributing monthly G/L reports.
- Processing invoices and posting payments using Moneris and banking systems.
- Acting as the Privacy Policy Officer for the company.
- Recording weekly ticketing sales transactions in Sage 50.
- Preparing weekly payroll, ROEs, and tracking vacation and sick days for five permanent employees and additional contractors during the festival.
- Reporting to the Box Office Manager and collaborating with the accountant and Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education completion.
- At least two years of experience handling a full set of books, including A/R, A/P, Payroll, General Journal, and General Ledger, across two fiscal years including year-end.
- Completion of modules 1 to 5.2 in CPA prep courses, level 3 CGA, or equivalent.
- Experience with Dayforce/Ceridian payroll and proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with non-profit/charity organizations and ticketing systems is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
