Job summary

A mechanical services provider in Manitoba is seeking a Boiler Operator/Technician for their Timken Facility. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in plant boiler operation, strong troubleshooting skills, and be capable of performing preventative maintenance on various systems. The role involves safely operating multiple boilers and performing electrical work as needed. Competitive pay starts at $27+ hourly, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of plant boiler/powerhouse operation.
  • Basic skills in welding, pipefitting, and power tools.
  • Ability to work around chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and control multiple boilers across different types of fuels.
  • Preventative maintenance of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and support equipment.
  • Pump maintenance, as well as piping and valve needs.
  • Daily checks and logs during shift to ensure optimum operation, including water testing and chemical additions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the scope of operation.
  • Electrical work as needed: 24-Volt DC control voltage up to 480-Volt 3-phase AC.

If you're detail-oriented, have good communication skills, and can work independently, join our team today as a Boiler Operator/Technician at our Timken Facility. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with and operating a full Boiler System, have troubleshooting skills, and the foresight to keep the system running efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and control multiple boilers across different types of fuels
  • Preventative maintenance of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and support equipment
  • Pump maintenance, as well as piping and valve needs
  • Daily checks and logs during shift to ensure optimum operation, including water testing and chemical additions
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the scope of operation
  • Electrical work as needed: 24-Volt DC control voltage up to 480-Volt 3-phase AC to include switches and VFDs
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of plant boiler/ powerhouse operation
  • Basic skills in welding, pipefitting, and power tools
  • Ability to work around chemicals
  • Understanding of powerhouse equipment and the continual improvement process
Compensation

$27+ hourly DOE
