Job summary

OTIP Group of Companies in Ontario is seeking a Bodily Injury Examiner to serve members and resolve casualty claims while upholding quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Injury, you will investigate, collect information, and manage claims with professional conduct.

Qualifications include pursuing CIP designation and Adjuster’s license, at least three years of all-lines claims adjudication, strong communication, and proficient Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CIP designation is preferred.
• Pursuing an Adjuster’s license is preferred.
• Minimum of three years all lines claims adjudication.
• Knowledge of intermediate Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• French language ability is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support customer service, respond to inquiries and improve work quality and volume.
• Establish proof of loss, study documentation, collect information, and investigate claims.
• Maintain file quality, reserving, expense and loss control, and liability assessments.
• Build documents in defense of moderate exposure claims and negotiate settlements.
• Represent stakeholders in meetings, court hearings, mediations and information gatherings.
• Provide legal support and assemble documentation for settlement.
• Keep claims information confidential and ensure data accuracy.
• Adhere to guidelines, contracts, and insurance regulations.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize information for reporting purposes.
• Perform other duties within competence.

What You’ll Do:

The Bodily Injury Examiner is responsible for serving members and resolving casualty claims , while maintaining the highest level of quality . This includes establishing prompt contact with members, coordinating timely investigations, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining file quality requirements, and adhering to corporate service standards, goals and criteria . Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Injury, the core parts of your role will be to:

• Support customer service, which includes responding to inquiries and maintaining and improving work quality and volume.
• Establish proof of loss. This includes studying and analyzing documentation, collecting additional information from various outside parties as required, initiating, or conducting investigation of questionable claims, and negotiating and disposing of casualty claims of minor to moderate complexity in a timely manner.
• Maintain quality service and adheres to organizational standards to deal with all aspects of file handling including reserving, expense and loss control, liability assessments, and setting an agenda for future handling.
• Build documents in defense of moderate exposure claims. This includes assessing damages, recognizing potential exposures, implementing tasks to contain ultimate value and disposition of moderate exposure claims using superior negotiation skills.
• Represent stakeholders in a professional manner at meetings, court hearings, mediations and other information gatherings with a view to effect settlement when appropriate.
• Provide legal support, assembling documentation for settlement action as requested by senior staff.
• Keep claims information confidential to protect operations.
• Maintain client database and complete defined functions directly onto the computer system, while ensuring accuracy of input data.
• Adhere to guidelines, contract, and insurance regulations to ensure legal compliance.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize information for reporting purposes.
• Perform other duties within competence, as assigned.

• Working towards a CIP designation.
• Working towards an Adjuster’s license.
• A minimum of three years all lines claims adjudication.
• Knowledge of intermediate Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• The demonstrated ability to provide outstanding service in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities, including project management skills.
• The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.

Salary Range:

This position offers a competitive salary within a range of $66,360 to $91,217, along with rewarding bonuses that recognize your dedication.
