A community-focused organization is seeking volunteers for its Board of Directors to provide strategic direction and oversight. This role requires a commitment of 3-4 hours monthly for a minimum of two years. Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of governance and a genuine interest in mental health. Also required for this position: Key responsibilities include:Providing Strategic Direction: Establishing a clear vision & mission to align initiatives with community needs.Advancing Organizational Goals: Supporting Stride's goals to foster growth, innovation, & outreach.Monitoring Progress: Regularly assessing performance against strategic goals & making necessary adjustments.Ensuring Effective Oversight: Safeguarding Stride’s financial health & ensuring accountability in all operations.

Our meetings are held at our Milton head office or virtually on the last Thursday of each month from 5 pm to 7 pm.What We’re Looking For:-Regular attendance at monthly board meetings (5 meetings per year + AGM)-Active participation in board and committee meetings-Willingness to represent Stride at community events and functions-Enthusiasm for helping Stride achieve its mission!If you're excited about contributing to a meaningful cause and joining a dedicated team of leaders, we’d love to hear from you! Certification or Education Required
To serve effectively as a Board member candidates should possess a solid understanding of Board governance, legal & regulatory frameworks, & ethical standards. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring compliance & fostering integrity within the agency. Strong leadership & communication skills are essential for collaboration & decision-making. Additionally, a genuine interest in mental illness & addictions will enhance your ability to guide the agency's services, ensuring they meet community needs.
