Job summary

VCA Canada in Calgary seeks a Board-Certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist to join our engaged team. You will manage a diverse caseload, lead GI/GU/resp procedures, and contribute to teaching interns and final-year students from the University of Calgary.

The role offers collaboration with radiology, neurology, oncology, and other services, access to advanced imaging (CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound), and a supportive work-life balance with ongoing education and career development.

Qualifications

• Completed Internal Medicine Residency; Board-certified or in process to be board-certified.
• Demonstrated collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, pet parents, and the veterinary community.
• Experience mentoring students or interns is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse, complex caseload including GI, GU, and respiratory cases.
• Perform and supervise advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision of interns and final-year students from the University of Calgary.
• Collaborate with radiology, neurology, oncology, and other services to provide comprehensive care.
