Job summary

Bioscience Officers are specialists in the human dimension of military operations, environmental processes and occupational health and safety, aiming to optimize health and performance of CAF members. They interpret and apply current scientific standards to protective clothing, equipment, human-machine interfaces, and risk assessments in CAF workplaces.

The role includes high-risk training, development of procedures, and potential postings to Army, Navy or Air Force units.

Qualifications

• Minimum four-year honours bachelor’s degree from an accredited Canadian university in Human Biology, Human Physiology, Kinesiology, Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology.
• Preference for Master’s degree in Human Systems Integration (Human Factors) or Occupational Health (Industrial Hygiene).
• Direct Entry Options; on-the-job training after Basic Military Officer Qualification (BMOQ).
