Job summary

Future Fields in downtown Edmonton is seeking a Biomanufacturing Insect Technician to support our fruit fly rearing facility. This full-time, hourly role focuses on fly rearing, media prep, data entry and biomass harvesting, under the Upstream Processing Lead.

You will work in a fast-paced biotech startup, contribute to scalable operations, maintain data integrity, and help keep equipment and workflows running smoothly while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Fly rearing and colony management with clean cage organization.
• Media preparation from food-grade ingredients.
• Data logging and integrity in our insect-rearing database.
• Biomass harvesting following established protocols.
• Sanitation and turnover of equipment and tools.
• Maintain safe, sanitary workspace and support ongoing operations.
