Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond is seeking Biology Student Tutors for Fall 2026. Tutors provide in-person one-on-one or small-group support in the Biological Sciences Peer Mentoring Center, with some evenings required.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time for Fall 2026, maintain a 3.5 GPA, and be a Biology major. Preferred candidates are junior or senior Biological Sciences majors (or high-performing sophomores) with a B or higher in upper-level BIO coursework.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at EKU full time for the Fall 2026 semester.
• 3.5 GPA and a BIO major.
• Undergraduate Biological Sciences student at junior or senior standing, or exceptional sophomore with a 3.5+ GPA.
• A grade of at least a B in some upper-level BIO coursework (e.g. BIO 307/308, BIO 315, BIO 320, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person one-on-one or group tutoring in the Biological Sciences Peer Mentoring Center.
• Some evenings may be required.
• Tutors will assist with coursework, problem-solving, and study strategies for biology courses.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Biological Sciences department is seeking undergraduate students to serve as tutors in the department's Peer Mentoring Center. Students will be responsible for providing in-person one-on-one or group setting. Some evenings may be required. Previous tutoring experience is preferred but not required. Must have a 3.5 GPA and a BIO major.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU full time for the Fall 2026 semester.

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate Biological Sciences student, or related major, at junior or senior standing, or exceptional sophomore minimum 3.5 GPA. A grade of a least a B or higher in some upper-level BIO coursework (e.g. BIO 307/308, BIO 315, BIO 320, etc.)
