Job summary

PRI Engineering is seeking an Intermediate Biologist to join our Environmental Services team. This hands-on role involves field and office work, project ownership, and mentorship to grow your consulting career.

You will support terrestrial and wildlife ecology projects across forestry, renewable energy, municipal, and transportation sectors, with travel as required. Join a collaborative team of engineers, scientists, and resource professionals in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Approximately 4–8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in environmental consulting.
• Experience conducting terrestrial and/or wildlife ecological field programs.
• Experience with species-at-risk surveys, habitat assessments, wildlife inventories, environmental assessments, or related studies.
• Experience preparing technical reports and environmental/regulatory documentation.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, permitting processes.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks, schedules, and deliverables with limited supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical consulting and project delivery across terrestrial and wildlife ecology.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage field programs, logistics, and safety.
• Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret ecological data.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Support senior biologists and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
