Job summary

OZZ Group is seeking a BIM Designer in Vaughan, Canada, to resize, modify and produce electrical design drawings for construction projects using BIM technology.

You will model electrical services in Revit, maintain BIM standards, and coordinate with multiple trades to reflect accurate 3D and 2D information on project drawings.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
  • BIM Certification.
  • 3–5 years CAD work experience; electrical design experience preferred.
  • 1–2 years US BIM coordinator experience.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Experience with both 2D and 3D drafting.
  • Experience with Bentley Micro Station and Adobe is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on BIM coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of construction industry and electrical contracting is an asset.

  • Coordinate electrical services internally and with other trades.
  • Implement shop drawings from vendors and consultant supply chains in 3D elements.
  • Produce virtual files for site team to aid decision-making and construction.
  • Understand construction drawings, building structures and construction process.
  • Develop electrical layouts from 3D (Revit) to reflect building information in 2D.
  • Create reflected electrical As-Build drawings in 3D/2D models.
  • Collaborate with BIM Leaders, site and management, contractors, and other trades.
  • Assist project managers with project administration as needed.
  • All other duties to meet Company objectives.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

ROLE

The BIM Designer is responsible for using BIM Technology and peripheral equipment to resize, modify and produce electrical design drawings for construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Model electrical services in Revit, according to the IFC (original design) and site layout (design intent).
  • Maintain company BIM Standards across the project.
  • Coordinate electrical services internally and with other trades.
  • Implement shop drawings from vendors and consultant supply chains in 3D elements to reflect equipment’s accuracy.
  • Produce virtual files to be used by the project site team to aid decision‑making during installation and to be built.
  • Understand construction drawings, building structures and construction process.
  • Develop electrical layouts from 3D (Revit) files, with building information reflected in 2D.
  • Allocate and produce reflected electrical As‑Build drawings in 3D/2D models.
  • Collaborate with BIM Leader’s, site and management team, contractors, and other trades.
  • Assist project managers with project administration as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.

EDUCATIONAL AND PRFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • College diploma in Architectural Technology program or similar program.
  • BIM Certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years CAD work experience - electrical design experience preferred
  • 1-2 years US BIM coordinator experience
  • Experience with Revit required.
  • Experience with both 2D and 3D required.
  • Experience with Bentley Micro Station and ADOBE is considered an asset.
  • Hands‑on BIM coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of construction industry and electrical contracting is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
