Job summary

A construction technology company located in Alberta is looking for a BIM Modeling specialist. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in BIM work, strong knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, and be able to lead teams in ensuring project compliance with modeling standards. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders and providing training to less experienced members.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the implementation of BIM workflows and processes within a project or organization.
• Able to handle Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE) meetings which are Internal and Coordinated Combined Services Model (CCSM) to work collectively and in parallel to resolve identified design and construction issues instantly using BIM models and to mitigate the latency in decision making and responses.
• Coordinate with Consultants (AR/ST), System-Wide Contractors (SWC) & Sub-Contractors (MEP) within the project and the interfacing parties to ensure discipline-specific design and construction conflicts found in the clash detection analysis have been identified, resolved, and rectified.
• Using Navisworks to generate the Clash Detection Report and Bim Collab to enhance the report progress.
• To review and validate the models created by different disciplines to ensure they are clash-free, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
• Liaise with Project Document Controller for accurate data transfer.
• Participate in technical, design and consultants’ meetings to understand the latest onsite requirements and ensure drawings and designs are up to date.
• Establishes and enforces BIM standards and quality control procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in the BIM deliverables.
• Developing and maintaining the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with the defined standards.
• Oversee, coordinate, and manage his/her BIM Modelers to meet all BIM deliverables submissions and information exchange schedules as documented in the agreed BEP.
• Assist project team in 3D models and 2D shop drawings.
• Provide training and support to other team members who are less experienced with BIM software or modeling techniques.
• Other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Structural/Architecture/Engineering/Construction/MEP or equivalent.
• Minimally 2 years’ experience in BIM Modeling work in building construction and project execution.
• Knowledge and experience in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
• Experience in LTA / MRT projects is advantageous.
• Good technical knowledge and planning skills in managing modelling and drafting works.
• Good communication, writing & interpersonal skills.
• Having a positive attitude and proactive mindset.
• Adaptable to working both independently and as a team player, with the ability to work under pressure and meet submission deadlines.
