About the Opportunity

Looking for detail oriented contractors to support a major billing and customer information system project. The primary focus of this role is to execute user acceptance testing (UAT), validate billing-related data, identify defects, and support the overall testing and conversion process. Candidates who have previously worked on utility billing projects.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Execute assigned test scripts and work through 10 defined case scenarios directly tied to billing operations and project requirements.


• Identify, validate, and document issues, defects, and discrepancies encountered during UAT.


• Log and track issues in the project defect-tracking system with clear notes and evidence.


• Report findings to the Test Lead and participate in defect review discussions.

Billing & Data Validation

• Review, validate, and perform QA checks on conversion data received from Utility company.


• Update, correct, and input large volumes of billing data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.


• Support end-to-end billing verification and ensure test results match expected outputs.


• Perform billing scenario testing to confirm system functionality and regulatory compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the outsourced contact centre team to confirm accuracy of customer account information and testing outcomes.


• Communicate with internal stakeholders and the Test Lead regarding test progress, issues, and dependencies.

Documentation & SOPs

• Create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to new processes, billing workflows, and testing activities.


• Maintain accurate records of testing steps, results, updates, and data corrections.

Qualifications

• Experience working on a system implementation or large transformation project (UAT experience preferred).


• Strong billing knowledge—utility billing experience


• Prior experience working with utility providers


• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot and log errors effectively.


• Strong data entry and data validation skills.


• Ability to follow structured test cases while also identifying edge-case issues.


• Strong communication skills and comfort reporting issues to project leadership.

• Comfortable with fast-paced project cycles, strict deadlines, and high-volume data work.


• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and documentation abilities.


• A team player who can collaborate with technical, operational, and external contact centre teams.

About You:

• 2 years of utility billing experience


• Have to work 2 weekends for UAT in March, comfortable with overtime


• Municipality experience is a strong asset


• UAT exp is an asset

Pay Range:

$28 - $35 per hour
