Language

Education

  • College/CEGEP or above
  • Studies in accounting, accounting technology or bookkeeping

Work Experience

  • 2 years or more of experience in bookkeeping/financial accounting
  • Experience managing financial records for stewardship programs
  • Experience working with accounting software, including Quick Books
  • Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely

General Tasks

  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Arrange for billing for services
  • Send invoices
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations

Specific Tasks

  • Manage and maintain financial records for multiple stewardship programs, including Interchange Recycling, Call2Recycle, Product Care, and Cleanfarms, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, supporting documentation, correspondence, and backup materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable records, including collections, in accordance with company financial policies and procedures
  • Conduct annual reviews of internal financial processes to ensure alignment with stewardship program requirements and regulatory standards
  • Review and validate consolidated invoices prior to submission, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
  • Investigate billing discrepancies, resolve issues, and follow up with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution
  • Create and manage purchase orders; review incoming invoices and route them for appropriate approval
  • Review internal work orders for billing accuracy and ensure correct general ledger (GL) coding is applied
  • Support the preparation and execution of client and agency audits by compiling relevant financial data and documentation
