Overview

MDSearch is seeking bilingual Psychiatrists (English/French) to conduct virtual Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and consultations for military veterans and RCMP members experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, sleep disorders, and chronic pain. The Psychiatrist will meet with patients from Quebec and Nova Scotia, assessing eligibility for medical cannabis and providing trauma-informed mental health evaluations. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to support Canada’s veteran community through entirely virtual care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct virtual Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and mental health consultations for veterans and RCMP members.
  • Assess eligibility for medical cannabis and provide trauma-informed mental health evaluations.
  • Work with patients from Quebec and Nova Scotia in a 100% virtual setting.
Compensation
  • Work Setting: 100% Virtual
  • Schedule: Minimum 1 day (or 2 half days) per week, or equivalent of ~10 patients/week
Requirements
  • Licensure required: Candidates must be licensed to practice in either Quebec or Nova Scotia.
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Experience working with members of the military community preferred
  • Background in trauma-related mental health (PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc.)
  • Experience writing IMEs is an asset but not required
