Job summary

EY Canada is seeking a Proposal Strategist to join the Canada Strategic Proposal team in Ottawa. You will provide strategic and tactical support to help win new business across services and sectors, co-authoring content for proposals and oral presentations.

You will collaborate with Client Executives and cross‑functional teams across Canada, coordinating with an international team of Proposal Coordinators to drive high‑quality pursuit collateral.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in proposals or professional services.
• Undergraduate degree in Language, Communications, Marketing or Business.
• Bilingual in French and English for interaction with clients nationally and globally.
• Experience in proposal management and development is highly desirable.
• Background in proposals, content writing or communications.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic communications on large, complex proposals.
• Write and edit standard and customized proposal content.
• Facilitate meetings with bid team members and co-author content for proposals.
• Coach and develop collateral for oral presentations and collateral.
• Manage information flow, timelines and action items to coordinate a team effort.
• Monitor progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Review final proposal collateral for brand alignment and quality.
• Build relationships across Markets Organization and support functions.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated, confident individual to join the Canada Strategic Proposal team as a Proposal Strategist. In this role, you will provide strategic and tactical support to help win new business across all services and sectors. You’ll participate in proposal management and strategy while co-authoring content for proposals, oral presentations, and other pursuit collateral. You will collaborate with Client Executives, client service professionals, designers, other Proposal Strategists across Canada, and an international team of Proposal Coordinators.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Drive the strategic communications process on large, complex and strategically significant proposals
• Research, write and edit standard and customized proposal content
• Contribute and/or facilitate meetings with bid response team members
• Coach and develop collateral for oral presentations
• Facilitate win strategy sessions
• Project manage the process, including coordination of information from contributors and follow-up on action items to achieve a coordinated team effort
• Monitor the progress of all proposal activities for adherence to deadlines and quality standards
• Share leading practices with proposal teams
• Review final proposal collateral for quality, format and content for adherence to the firm’s brand standards
• Serve as a liaison between the proposal response team and other support functions
• Build and leverage relationships within the Markets Organization across the country
• Manage multiple proposals and priorities simultaneously

• Strong understanding of proposal management and development for professional services
• Experience in professional services (e.g., accounting, management consulting, legal, etc) is highly desirable
• Background in proposals, content writing or communications
• Undergraduate degree required (major in Language, Communications, Marketing or Business)
• Bilingualism in both French and English is required for interaction with clients operating nationally and globally

Compensation

• Toronto: $75,600 to $113,400
• London/Waterloo/Ottawa: $75,600 to $113,400
• Vancouver: $75,600 to $113,400
• Victoria: $75,600 to $113,400
