Job summary

BMO is seeking a remote Insurance Sales Specialist to promote and sell life insurance products across inbound and outbound channels. You will drive sales growth, improve client experience, and deliver tailored, consultative solutions to clients and prospects from a fully remote setup in Canada.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, a post-secondary degree, bilingual French and English, and LLQP or Level 2 licenses with progression toward required certifications.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Bilingual French and English required
  • Must meet Life Insurance licensing requirements (LLQP or Level 2 in Ontario/Quebec) and pursue LLQP if needed
  • Experience in call center environments preferred
  • Knowledge of life insurance products, applications, and applicable regulations

This is a fully remote position

Promotes and sells Insurance products and solutions through inbound and outbound channels to uncover insurance needs and tailored solutions, using a consultative, client-first approach.

Drives sales growth and meets individual targets.

Delivers the desired client experience to customers and prospects.

Accelerates premium growth by maximizing opportunities with all clients to enhance cross-selling sales activities, referrals and client retention.

Follows authorized scripts, processes and procedures used in the course of conducting business activities.

Manages complex cases & high end sales.

Provides superior client experience and service.

Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.

Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.

Applies for and/or maintains relevant licenses for the products / market where the role is performed; satisfies Continuing Education and Errors & Omissions Insurance requirements, as directed.

Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and ensures alignment.

Breaks down strategic problems, and analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

Provide answers to technical questions regarding life insurance necessary for the licensed agents to perform their duties.

Ensures the timely development of program scripting, objection handling and training.

Ensures all legal and compliance issues related to sales are met.

Identifies business needs, designs/develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences.

Supports the achievement of the business plan.

Supports the delivery of the desired client experience to enhance business opportunities.

Collaborates effectively with intern stakeholders to build capability and drive business growth.

Adheres to all legal and compliance requirements in the course of conducting business activities.

Completes necessary administrative functions, as assigned (sales reports, follow up on pending business, etc.).

Focus may be on a business/group.

Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.

Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Works mostly independently.

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents (Frameworks, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Supporting documents), laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bilingualism French and English is required.

Must meet the licensing and certification requirements for the team / branch / jurisdiction where the mandate is being fulfilled.

For Life Insurance products: Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) or Level 2 license in Ontario/Quebec equivalent.

For Other Than Life Insurance products: Valid OTL insurance license in Ontario and/or Quebec with an expectation to work towards the A&S/ LLQP license within 3 months of employment.

Experience in a call center environment preferred.

Working knowledge of life insurance products; life insurance product application; life insurance law, compliance and regulations.

Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Salary

Salary: $40,000.00 - $85,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
