Bilingual Legal Assistant (French-English) – Permanent Position

A friendly and dynamic law firm, located in the Olympic Village in East Montreal, is seeking a qualified Bilingual Legal Assistant for a permanent, full-time position available immediately. You will join a close-knit, collaborative team currently composed of 3 assistants and 3 bailiffs. Technical Skill: A typing speed test will be required to evaluate your efficiency. Location: Olympic Village, East Montreal. Directly next to the L'Assomption metro station.

  • 35 hours per week - from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • 2 weeks of vacation (negotiable)

Responsibilities
  • Managing phone calls
  • Managing the Outlook email inbox
  • Greeting and providing accurate information to clients who come in person
  • Managing files related to service of process and enforcement (eviction, wage garnishment, bank seizure)
  • Tracking deadlines and procedures
  • Drafting minutes (data entry)
  • Conducting research on the Business Register, Soquij, property assessment, RDPRM, and the TAL website
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Digitally archiving documents
Qualifications
  • Excellent French and English, written and spoken
  • Excellent dexterity
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and Outlook
  • Strong learning ability and good memory
  • Ability to work in a team and sometimes under pressure
