Job summary

Aecon delivers some of the most complex infrastructure projects and is hiring a Bilingual Human Resources Administrator in Toronto. You will provide administrative and coordination support to the Civil East HR and Operations team, handling payroll-related transactions, onboarding, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a post-secondary HR education and bilingual (French/English) abilities, with experience in SAP and SuccessFactors being an asset.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with a major in Human Resources or related field.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is required.
  • Experience in a fast-paced operational environment such as construction is an asset.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables.
  • Experience with SAP and SuccessFactors is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with various audiences, stakeholders and clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professionalism and discretion handling sensitive information a must.
  • Demonstrated ability using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Payroll and HR Data Administrators to ensure employment-related transactions are processed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
  • Prepare salary reports and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Investigate and answer employee questions related to pay, acting as liaison between employee and payroll departments.
  • Generate new and ad hoc HRIS reports as needed by the HR department.
  • Monitor vacation tracking and coordinate end of year vacation roll over process.
  • Support drafting offer letters, onboarding new employees, collecting all new hire paperwork, IT needs, and access to software and hardware.
  • Schedule and coordinate Orientations for new hires for all salary and hourly non-union employees.
  • Prepare new Employee Orientation packages and assist in offboarding employees including communication with payroll and IT.
  • Act as liaison between HR, new hire and managers regarding onboarding information.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

What is the Opportunity?

The Bilingual Human Resources Administrator will provide administrative and coordination support to the Civil East Human Resources and Operations team. The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for providing professional, client-centered support within a fast-paced operational environment.

What You’ll Do Here:
  • Responsible for working closely with Payroll and HR Data Administrators to ensure employment-related transactions, such as new hires and terminations, are processed accurately and submitted within required deadlines
  • Responsible for salary reports and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • In charge of investigating and answering employee questions associated with their pay, acting as a liaison between the employee and salary payroll department & hourly payroll department
  • Generate new and ad hoc HRIS reports as needed by the HR department

This role follows a hybrid work model, combining in‑office collaboration and flexibility, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.

Reason for vacancy: New

The expected salary range for this role is $50,000-$55,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of therole.
