Overview

INTRODUCTION: Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities
  • Highly motivated individuals who can be flexible, diligent, adaptable and integral in conducting interviews.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented and independent manner with strong sense of organization.
  • Administrative and Investigative role that involves the recruitment and selection of Military Police and Close Protection Operatives.
  • This role includes the need to perform reference checks via phone call and email and other background related duties to determine applicants’ suitability.
  • Review electronic files for accuracy and completeness;
  • Build online applicant file folders;
  • Respond to general email and phone enquiries;
  • Assist with clerical and other miscellaneous duties;
  • Update online databases with up to date applicant information;
  • Follow up with applicants if information is lacking;
  • Ensure all CGL Policies and Procedures are maintained and followed
  • Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are followed and maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • MUST Ontario Security Guard License
  • MUST Valid WSIB approved First Aid and CPR certificate
  • MUST Ability to speak/read/communicate in English and French (fluently)
  • Excellent customer service and reception skills
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
  • MUST Have the ability to obtain Reliability (Level 1) Security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean criminal record, clean credit history)

Hourly Rate of Pay: $28.48 per hour

Location: 538 Cambrai Rd, CFB Borden

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600hrs
