Job summary

Sun Life Québec in Montreal (hybrid) seeks a Group Disability Claims professional to support Canadians through health journeys, disability claims, and recovery planning. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and clients across Canada.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, data-driven decisions, empathy, and building strong relationships with employers and healthcare providers. A bilingual, healthcare or business graduate with 3–5 years of experience is preferred, with growth

• Frontline healthcare experience required in healthcare or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Kinesiology, or Business.
• Bilingual French and English (oral and written) required.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in healthcare or case management.

• Assess and manage disability claims with focus on timely and fair resolution.
• Lead recovery planning by evaluating medical and non-medical factors and return-to-work readiness.
• Apply crisis intervention and rehabilitation techniques to support clients.

Are you a healthcare professional or business graduate with a passion for helping others navigate complex health journeys? Join Sun Life’s Group Disability team, where we support Canadians in their pursuit of better health and sustainable recovery.

What You’ll Do

• Assess and manage disability claims (short-term, long-term, and salary continuance) with a focus on timely and fair resolution.
• Lead recovery planning by identifying medical and non-medical factors, functional capabilities, and return-to-work readiness.
• Apply crisis intervention and rehabilitation techniques to support clients through challenging health transitions.
• Use data and analytics to inform decisions and identify trends in recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, employers, and healthcare providers.
• Communicate with empathy and clarity, guiding clients through their absence and return-to-work journey.

What You Need to Succeed

• Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required to answer calls from English and French speaking clients across Canada and worldwide.

• Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
• Comfort with digital tools and multiple platforms
