MEC is seeking a Bicycle Mechanic in Toronto to assemble, maintain and repair bicycles, mentor frontline staff, and support ski shop duties in winter. You will help members choose gear, provide expert advice, and uphold MEC sustainability principles while working behind the scenes and on the shop floor.
Expected to contribute to inventory organization, parts sourcing, and accurate documentation, while maintaining MEC productivity standards and safety guidelines.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to work with one of Canada’s most iconic outdoor retailers, we’ve got your dream job.
MEC is more than a store. We’re a hub for the outdoor community, a leader in sustainability, and a place where you can be yourself. People come to us to try new things and plan new adventures and as a Bike Mechanic, you’ll be there to help make it all happen.
Members (what we call customers) visit us for gear and advice on hiking, camping, climbing, cycling, watersports, snowsports and travel. You’ll chat with people who are planning everything from dream trips to weekend getaways, and first-timers to outdoor experts.
You’ll also have some pretty incredible coworkers who might just become future activity buddies; we asked staff what their favourite thing was about working for MEC, and the overwhelming answer was “the people.”
You assemble, maintain and repair bicycles within MEC's productivity, quality and safety guidelines. Mentor and train frontline staff about bike repair processes and procedures. You do all repairs with MEC sustainability principles in mind. In the winter, bike mechanics help in our ski shop, so you'll also install, adjust and repair ski bindings and skis.
You help members get great gear, with the industry-leading advice they need to feel inspired about their activity. You work behind the scenes and on the frontline to organize inventory and get members the products they need.
You talk with members about our products. You have in-depth knowledge and love sharing personal recommendations. You have an affinity for helping people of all skill levels find the right product.
This role ranges from $21.90 to $27.15 depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
