Job summary

LG Electronics Canada, Inc. is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to advance our data-driven strategy. You will build robust data pipelines, perform ETL with SSIS, model data, and support analytics across sales, marketing, and demographics.

Expertise in Python for automation and experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI will help craft insightful dashboards and reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and help define KPIs to improve decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years’ experience with data engineering principles and data integration techniques across various systems and platforms.
• 1+ year experience with Python for automation, data processing, and data analysis.
• 1+ year experience with Data Visualization BI Tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, T-SQL, ETL (SSIS), and data modeling.
• Knowledge of eCommerce KPIs, analytics, and customer journey mapping.

Position Summary

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will play a vital role in our data-driven strategy by leveraging your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, ETL (SSIS), data engineering, data modeling, and SSAS (OLAP Cube). Your primary responsibilities will include data integration with internal information systems, third-party data providers, and other platforms to build a robust data pipeline encompassing various data types such as sales, marketing, and demographic data. Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and data analysis, as well as experience with Data Visualization BI Tools like Tableau or Power BI, will be essential assets in this role. Additionally, you should be able to evaluate current processes and suggest any appropriate improvements to increase efficiency, reduce loss, and enhance the customer experience.

Principal Responsibilities

Data Management

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrations using Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS).
• Perform database administration tasks, including monitoring, optimizing, and ensuring data integrity within the Microsoft SQL Server environment.
• Create and optimize data models to facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Integrate data from internal systems, third-party data providers, and other platforms to build a comprehensive data pipeline.
• Process and transform data using Python to automate tasks and data pipeline.
• Ensure data quality and consistency through data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques

Data Analytics

• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to drive business decisions.
• Use Google Analytics 360 (GA360) to track and analyze website traffic, conversion rates, user behavior, and other key metrics. Ability to set up custom reports, create segments, and implement advanced features like Enhanced Ecommerce tracking.
• Use Python to perform data consolidation, explorative analysis and generate insights
• Use Data Visualization BI Tools like Tableau or Power BI to develop visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports
• Design reports/dashboard/charts to show trends in customer purchase and evaluate changes in the online retail market

Business Process and Project Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design scalable data solutions that support business needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting mechanisms to track and measure them, providing the deep analysis of data and then determining the best way to represent it visually to managers and stakeholders.
• Document data integration processes, data models, and system configurations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in business intelligence, data engineering, and ecommerce to drive innovation and process improvements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or similar role, preferably in the ecommerce industry.
• 2+ years’ experience with data engineering principles and data integration techniques across various systems and platforms.
• 1+ year experience with Python for automation, data processing, and data analysis tasks.
• 1+ year experience with Data Visualization BI Tools like Tableau or Power BI to create interactive dashboards and reports.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, T-SQL, ETL (SSIS), and data modeling.
• Understanding of eCommerce KPIs, sales funnels, and customer journey mapping.
• Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies to optimize website performance and user experience.
• Microsoft SQL Server related certificate or other equivalent data management related certificates is an asset.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations, especially regarding customer data in the eCommerce industry.
• Awareness of emerging trends and technologies in eCommerce, digital marketing, and data analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Note

This posting is for an existing vacancy. The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000-70,000. Actual total compensation may include variable incentive pay. The determination of an applicant's base salary is based on the applicant's skills, competencies, location, and unique qualifications.
