Qualifications

  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe living environment.

  • Be available for various shifts including nights and weekends.

We are seeking 3 Behavioral PSWs for a client in the Barrie area. There are 3 vacant opportunities available.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The selected candidate will work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a welcoming, safe, and healthy living environment for clients with challenging aggressive behaviors. The candidate will be required to assist clients with developmental programming, community outings, activities of daily living (ADLs), behavior interventions, and more.
  • Must be available for a variety of shifts: nights, evenings, afternoons, and days and two out of three weekends

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Social Services (DSW, PSW, CYW, Autism and Behavioral Sciences, etc.). Related experience is preferred. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Dual Diagnosis, Autism, Challenging and Aggressive Behaviors and Complex Medical Needs considered an asset
  • MUST have any of the following Crisis Prevention Intervention training: CPI, blue card CURRENT 2025.
  • Experience and flexibility in providing support to individuals with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties; ability to perform all techniques taught in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training
  • Experience with facilitating and supporting Person Centered Planning
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, electronic record keeping and data collection systems
  • Must be comfortable supporting individuals at indoor/outdoor in the community
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License (G2 minimum) and willingness to drive any vehicles (including highway driving/driving out of town)
  • Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months
  • Previous experience working with individuals with highly aggressive behaviors, dual-diagnosis, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and/or medical needs is required***
