Job summary

Cargill Ltd. in High River, Alberta, is hiring for full-time Meat Cutters- Retail/Wholesale in a beef processing facility located 30 minutes south of Calgary. Two shifts, 7:00 am–4:00 pm and 4:00 pm–1:00 am, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed to fulfill production demands.

Starting wage is $26.25/hour up to $29.00/hour under the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include prescription medication, medical, dental, vision care, and other programs after three months of continuous

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school.
• Minimum of three years meat cutter/knife experience.
• Experience in meat processing and packing environment using manual cutting utensils and band saws.
• Certificate in Meat Cutting Program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work in a fully integrated beef production facility performing precision meat cutting, deboning, trimming and preparing standard or specialized cuts.
• Cut, trim and prepare precise products per client specifications.
• Operate specialized knives and equipment following health and safety and safe food handling practices.
• Maintain equipment to keep it sharp and in good condition.
• Maintain high sanitation and personal cleanliness standards.
• Train junior employees and supervise other butchers/meat cutters.
• Perform other duties as required consistent with the occupation.
