Job summary

Zoic Studios in Vancouver is seeking a Senior 3D Character Modeler for a 6-week contract to join our Character Development team. Based in British Columbia and remote, you will model, texture and sculpt hero characters, collaborating with rigging, animation and CFX to deliver production-ready assets.

The role requires senior-level proficiency and a strong reel. Starting ASAP, you will mentor junior artists, address notes promptly, and help optimize assets for fast-turnaround deliveries within the

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience creating high resolution organic models.
• Strong knowledge of realistic anatomy for bipeds and quadrupeds.
• Proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Mudbox.
• Photorealistic texturing experience.
• Experience with photo-real VFX production.
• Knowledge of hair grooming methodologies.

Responsibilities

Our Vancouverlocation is currently seeking a3D Senior Character Modeler to join our Character Development team. Starting ASAP for a 6 week contract, with the possibility of extending.

The SeniorCharacter Modeler reports to the Concept & Build Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Model/texture/shade/sculpt high quality hero creatures and characters assets
• Take point on character/creature design and development under the direction of Supervisors as needed
• Collaborate with rigging, animation, and CFX to create production ready assets
• Set up initial groom and cloth template
• Create posed and lit turn tables
• Work within the colour and lighting pipeline
• Ensure downstream pipeline needs are considered and assets are optimized for rendering
• Work to address notes
• Work to ensure internal and external deadlines and deliveries are met with budgeted hours
• Share knowledge and techniques with team members to improve overall team skills and asset quality.
• Apply secondary skillsets in other areas when waiting for character/creature assignment.
• Mentor other artists including juniors.

Qualifications:

• 5 yrs. minimum experience creating high resolutionorganic models.
• Strong knowledge of realistic anatomy of both bipeds and quadrupeds.
• Proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Mudbox.
• Proficiency in Substance Painter and/or Mari
• Solid re-topologizing and UV skills a must.
• Photorealistic texturing experience
• Experience with photo-real VFX production work.
• Strong understanding of hair grooming methodologies.
