VoltaXplore in Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Montre9al area) is seeking a Production Operator / Battery Process Technician to operate production equipment, handle raw materials, and maintain accurate production records in a safe, organized environment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to learn battery manufacturing processes and technologies, with the ability to follow SOPs and use measurement tools.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, process technician, or machine operator role is a strong asset.
  • Experience in battery manufacturing, lithium-ion technology, chemical or material processing, or a regulated manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely lift, handle, and move materials as required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, cleanliness, and continuous improvement.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and battery manufacturing technologies.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately enter and maintain production data are an asset.
  • Able to work 100% on-site in DDO (Montreal), Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automatic and semi-automatic production equipment according to production requirements, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and established production processes to safely and accurately weigh, measure, mix, transfer, and handle raw materials from grams to kilograms, while maintaining proper documentation, traceability, and attention to detail.
  • Receive, identify, label, inspect, store, and properly organize raw materials and production supplies.
  • Maintain accurate material identification and traceability throughout the production process.
  • Perform in-process inspections, measurements, sampling, and basic quality checks to ensure materials and products meet defined specifications.
  • Use measuring and inspection equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, balances/scales, and other measurement tools.
  • Complete production records, batch records, checklists, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Identify and report equipment issues, material discrepancies, quality concerns, or process abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor or team member.
  • Apply mechanical aptitude to operate production equipment and perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments within the scope of training and authorization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area, including cleaning equipment, tools, parts, and work areas after production activities.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
  • Work effectively with team members and other departments to achieve production targets and maintain product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the team's operational goals and strategic initiatives.

Its unique Dollard-des-Ormeaux facility operates an end-to-end MWh pilot line serving drone, portable electronics, and dual-use applications, with a strong focus on sovereignty and defense.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Operator / Battery Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating production equipment, handling and processing raw materials, performing in-process quality checks, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
