Job summary

Cineplex is seeking an hourly bartender for The Rec Room in Vancouver. The bartender will prepare alcoholic drinks, pour wine and beer, and provide friendly, guest-focused service in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include a high-school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of bartending experience, knowledge of drink recipes, and strong communication and time-management skills. A provincially valid alcohol service certificate is necessary; bartending classes are a plus. Wage is 18.25 CAD per hour.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Provincially applicable sell, sale, and handling of alcohol certificate.
• Bartending classes are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take and fill drink orders, garnish and serve drinks, handle POS transactions.
• Maintain clean work area; replace beer kegs and wash glasses and utensils.
• Monitor inventory and restock bar supplies as needed.
• Check IDs and refuse service if needed to ensure safety.

The Rec Room’s Bartenders are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The Bartender prepares alcoholic drinks and pours wine and beer for patrons of restaurants, bars, cocktail lounges, and other places where drinks are served. The Bartender is friendly and helpful, and is an expert with standard drink recipes while being flexible to follow guests’ preferences or recipes. What you will do:

Hourly Bartender - TRR

The Rec Room’s Bartenders are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The Bartender prepares alcoholic drinks and pours wine and beer for patrons of restaurants, bars, cocktail lounges, and other places where drinks are served. The Bartender is friendly and helpful, and is an expert with standard drink recipes while being flexible to follow guests’ preferences or recipes. In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Taking and filling drink orders, garnishing and serving drinks, collecting payment and operating POS
• Maintaining a clean work area by cleaning up after guests, removing empty bottles and trash, replacing empty beer kegs and washing glasses and utensils
• Monitoring and maintaining inventory by keeping track of wines, beers, liquors, and ordering bar supplies when required, and have stocked the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom to the bar
• Maintaining a safe environment by checking guests’ identification to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age, determining when a customer has had too much alcohol, stop serving and ensure a safe ride home is arranged, and by refusing service or even calling the police if necessary

Qualifications:

• You have a High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
• Candidates must be the required age of majority or older
• You have a minimum of 1-2 years of Bartending experience
• You can work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Completed Bartending classes preferred
• You have knowledge of drink recipes
• You have demonstrated time management and organizational skills
• You have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Provincially applicable sell, sale, and handling of alcohol certificate.
