Job summary

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, AB is seeking an experienced bartender to strengthen our hospitality team during events and daily dining services on site. You will positively engage guests, set up and stock bar stations, prepare and serve beverages, take payments when applicable, and tear down spaces after events.

The role requires a Alberta ProServe certification, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, flexible evenings and weekends, and participation in CUPE 4318.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a bartender in a professional environment.
• Completion of Alberta ProServe certification.
• Is able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Possesses a high standard of customer service and good organizational skills.
• Enjoys interacting with a diverse group of people (artists, leadership participants, conference delegates, etc.)
• Is able to work effectively under time constraints or with large volumes of people

The Opportunity

As part of our award-winning hospitality services, Banff Centre features a number of dining options for guests and participants - beautifully appointed banquets; market-style choices for daily dining; casual options for a quick bite, take-away, or pub-style fare; room service delivered to either guest bedrooms or meeting spaces.

Special Requirements

• Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule including evenings and weekends.


• Due to liquor license requirements, only candidates 18 years and older can be considered for this position.

Employment Terms & Benefits

• In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500-hour probationary period.


• This position pays $17.35 per hour working up to 37.5 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
