Job summary

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel is seeking a dedicated Banquet team member to deliver exceptional banquet experiences from setup to teardown. You will work within our slope-side resort, bringing expert service to guests enjoying events and conferences.

Applicants should have banquet serving or bartending experience and Serving it Right certification, with strong food and wine knowledge. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced team environment and contribute to memorable guest experiences during both peak and quiet

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional Banquet experience from start to finish.
• Follow Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Food and Beverage Banquet standards of service.
• Attend to setup, event execution, and teardown with attention to detail.
• Assist with food and table preparation before events.
• Set up buffet with presentation standards and ensure food safety.
• Serve beverages and take orders from guests; handle wine service.
• Demonstrate hospitality passion and adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
• Assist in F&B department outlets as needed.

Compensation Information:

$17.85 per hour

Physical Requirement:

Primary Responsibilities:

Service/Operations:

• Responsible for providing an exceptional Banquet experience from start to finish.
  • Follows the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Food and Beverage Banquet Standard of Service.
  • Attention to detail from set up, event execution, and tear down.
  • Assist with food and table preparation before the event begins.
  • Set up buffet with food presentation standards and practices while ensuring food safe handling is in order.
  • Food, wine and beverage knowledge.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, open wine and take drink orders from Guests.
  • Shows a passion for hospitality, service and food.
  • Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Assists in any F&B Department Outlet as business volumes dictate.

Guest Experience

• Deliver an elevated experience for our guests within our Food and Beverage Outlets.
  • Determine & ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Accommodates all guests and is responsible for replenishing buffet food, refilling beverages, and removing dirty dishes from the tables.
  • Brings any guest concerns to the Banquet Leadership team and or event organizers.
  • Act as an ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks with the ability to promote internal and external events.

Team Commitment:

• Dedicated to working within a dynamic team that focuses on collaboration.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Complete all tasks to help facilitate a smooth and efficient event from start to finish.
  • Clean up banquet room after the event ends and assist with inventory, food storage, and closing duty task as assigned.
  • Capable of assisting in emergency situations making prompt decisions in the best interest of the guest and the Hotel.
