At BC Timber Sales (BCTS) in the Seaward‑tlasta (Port McNeill) Business Area, we’re passionate about shaping the future of sustainable forestry. You’ll join a group of dedicated professionals who bring a blend of experience and fresh perspectives to Indigenous Reconciliation and Sustainable Forest Management. We work together to auction a portion of the province’s annual timber volume, providing essential market data that positively impacts communities, public forests, and the economy. You’ll enjoy collaborating with the Seaward‑tlasta Team and Provincial Teams, fostering strong connections with First Nations and Industry Partners in a supportive, community‑focused environment.

As the Operations Manager, Forestry, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for all Planning, GIS, and First Nations relations activities for the Business Area, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and best practices. You’ll play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable forestry practices that bring economic benefits to local communities while creating important relationships with local First Nations. Although our Business Area Office is located on Northern Vancouver Island, we have operating areas within the Great Bear Rainforest that are only accessible by boat, helicopter or seaplanes, which can make for an epic workday. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies within BC Timber Sales Seaward‑tlasta Business Area, Port McNeill.
