Job summary

COBS Bread in Calgary is seeking a Bakery Production Manager to lead the daily production of fresh breads and pastries, while ensuring quality and efficiency fromearly shift. You will motivate a small team, train staff, oversee schedules and uphold safety standards.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll forecast production needs based on data, collaborate with store teams, and drive continuous improvement. This full-time role offers growth opportunities and a supportive, community-focused culture.

Qualifications

  • You are a positive leader and fast learner with a willingness to learn all operations within the bakery
  • You have previous supervisory experience in a bakery or food production environment
  • You are a great communicator, problem solver and critical thinker
  • You are an early riser who can work independently or with a small team
  • You have an ability to forecast and adjust production level based on a detailed review of business data
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional customer service is preferred
  • Previous COBS experience as a baker would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work as part of a small team to bake products from scratch early each morning, following carefully crafted recipes
  • Lead and work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience
  • Train, develop, manage and lead production staff to ensuring the highest quality of product is produced at all times and in a timely manner

Your Role as Bakery Production Manager

Right now, we are looking for personable Bakery Production Manager to share their love of fresh bread with our loyal customers.

What Your Day Looks Like

Requirements

Physical Requirements
  • Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
  • Frequent turning and reaching
  • Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
  • Ability to lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 meters
  • Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping
