Job summary

Walmart in Winnipeg, MB is hiring a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service by upholding Walmart's values. You will maintain and zone the Bakery and Deli areas and assist with stocking and selling goods.

You will rotate stock, price signage, follow cold chain and food safety procedures, prepare deli orders, bake and display bakery items, and help customers with orders and inquiries in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Age – 16 or older

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
