Job summary

Italian Centre Shop Calgary is seeking a friendly, customer-focused associate for our bakery department. Welcome customers, answer questions, and keep displays stocked with bakery products. You will process bakery orders and assist bakers to ensure product availability.

We value strong communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude, and offer a welcoming, family-oriented team with opportunities to learn and grow within a busy retail bakery environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
• A positive attitude, teamwork, and a genuine passion for helping customers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and recommend bakery products.
• Keep bakery displays, bread walls, and shelves fully stocked and presentable.
• Process customer calls and bakery orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist bakers with product preparation and coordinate with the Café team to maintain product availability.
• Monitor product quality, identify expired or damaged goods, and follow food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment.
• Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
• Share ideas and observations about customer preferences, new products, and market trends.

What you'll do

Schedule & Physical Requirements

Open availability, including mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and general holidays.

Shifts vary between 8:00 a.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.

Comfortable with extended periods of standing and walking, frequent bending and twisting, and occasional pushing or pulling of heavy carts.

Ability to work in coolers and freezers for short periods.
