Job summary

Walmart Canada is hiring a Bakery Associate in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area to provide excellent customer service while maintaining the Bakery Department. You will ensure quality displays, proper pricing, and compliance with safety and cold-chain standards.

The role involves stocking, assisting customers, and following sanitation guidelines to deliver fresh bakery products in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise (bread, cakes, pies, cookies, rolls).
• Keep department fully stocked and ready for business.
• Ensure merchandise is signed and priced properly.
• Follow cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature logging, food handling, product rotation, sell-by and expiration dates.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Handle ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels per procedures.
• Prepare bakery items by thawing and baking per guidelines to maintain quality and appearance.
• Keep displays secure and safe.

What You'll Do

• Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.


• Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.


• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.


• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.


• Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.


• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.


• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.


• Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
