Job summary

Walmart Canada in Peace River, AB is seeking a Bakery Associate to deliver friendly customer service while maintaining the Bakery Department and assisting with stocking and pricing.

You will ensure the quality and presentation of bakery items, adhere to safety standards, and support storewide goals in a fast-paced retail environment at Walmart Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise (bread, cakes, pies, cookies, rolls)
• Keep the department fully stocked and ready for business
• Ensure merchandise is signed and priced correctly
• Follow cold chain standards, thermometer calibrations, temperature recordings, food handling, product rotation, and sell-by/expiration dates
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
• Follow procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing, labeling and pricing
• Prepare bakery merchandise by following thawing and baking guidelines to maintain quality
• Keep displays secured in a safe and proper manner

What you’ll do…

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.95.
