Job summary

Aramark Canada is hiring bakers for a remote lodge near Wawa, Ontario. You will bake a variety of pastries, pies, cookies, and cakes, following established recipes and safety standards while producing large volumes.

The role requires prior baking experience and food safety certification. Rotation is 2 weeks on site and 2 weeks off site, with transportation provided to Thunder Bay & White River. Comprehensive benefits are available.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services are hiring Bakers for a remote lodge near Wawa, ON. Bakers are responsible for preparing baked goods, such as pastries, pies, cookies, squares, cakes, and other bakery items. Coordinate and be responsible for the handling, preparation, production, and timely service of all large volume baking in accordance with methods and standards. Successful candidates will have professional remote camp or commercial baking experience.

Comprehensive benefit packages are offered. Transportation is provided out of Thunder Bay & White River, ON. Rotation are 2 weeks on site/2 weeks off site.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
• Proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Required to obtain food safety certification(s)
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
