Job summary

Legacy Co-operative Association LTD in Yorkton is seeking a skilled Baker for our Yorkton Food Store to join our full-time bakery team.

You will bake breads, buns and pastries following production schedules, prepare deli items, wrap and price products, and stock shelves to maintain store presentation. This role requires flexibility across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial baking experience.
• Food Safe Certificate (willing to train).
• Knowledge of the safe operation of bakery production equipment.
• Must be able to multitask in a very fast paced environment and work independently with a sense of urgency.
• Honest, trustworthy and results-oriented.
• Willing to work all shifts including days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Physically able to lift 60 lbs, climb ladders and kneel.
• Willing to obtain Food Safe Certificate if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Baking—follow production schedules and recipes for breads, buns, and pastries; measure/mix ingredients and shape dough.
• Food prep—prepare, wrap and price deli and bakery products; operate printer, scales and slicer.
• Stocking—unload freight, stock and merchandise bakery and deli products within the store.

What you’ll do:

• Baking- follow production schedules and recipes for breads, buns, and prepared pastries, as well as measuring/mixing ingredients and shaping dough
• Food Prep – Prepare, wrap and price deli and bakery products, such as sandwiches, salads, muffins, etc; operate printer, scales and slicer.
• Stocking – Unload freight, stock and merchandise bakery and deli products within the store.

Who you are:

• You have 2-3 years commercial baking experience
• You have Food Safe Certificate (willing to train)
• Knowledge of the safe operation of bakery production equipment
• Must be able to multitask in a very fast paced environment and have the ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
• You are willing to work all shifts scheduled including days, evenings, holidays and weekends
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
• You are physically able to do heavy lifting of 60 lbs, climb ladders and kneel
• You have or are willing to obtain a Food Safe Certificate
