A remote camp catering service in Ontario is seeking a Baker responsible for producing scratch and prefabricated baked goods for a large camp. The role requires 3-5 years of high production baking experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work well both independently and in a team. Benefits include free meals, accommodation, and overtime pay, along with a typical schedule of 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
The Baker is responsible for producing both scratch (70%+) and prefabricated baked goods, desserts and pastries for a 500+ person camp. Working under the guidance of the camp's Chef and in collaboration with LandSea Camp's Catering Manager, you will be expected to produce both high quality and high quantity products within the Bakery Department. This position requires the ability to follow directions, be diligent, focused and consistent. Comfort with kitchen and pastry equipment are required.
Our camps are in remote areas and staff live on-site (meals and accommodation included) on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks. A typical shift schedule (varies camp to camp) is 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Our camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from camp locations.
