The internship can be credited toward your program of study, and students who perform well are welcome to return for a second internship term. This internship may be paid for students enrolled in a recognized credited program who are eligible for a government internship subsidy — compensation details are confirmed during the interview process.

JOB SUMMARY

Do you love writing code? As Back‑End Web Developer, your job is to help Workland deliver an efficient, functional, and seamless experience for the end‑user — powering the systems that make it all work behind the scenes. You will develop back‑end systems, contribute to accessibility and security compliance, and monitor the status of servers. We need a motivated and driven programmer, ready to take on a variety of assignments — that's where you come in.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Programming Languages: Develop and maintain back‑end code using PHP
• Databases & Caches: Obtain and store information through SQL; create, integrate, and manage databases; produce reporting, analytics, and statistics when necessary.
• Tooling: Use Docker for containerization, apply unit testing best practices, and manage code versioning through Git/GitLab.
• System Development: Build and maintain back‑end systems that power a seamless, functional end‑user experience.
• Compliance & Monitoring: Contribute to accessibility and security compliance, and monitor the status of servers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Currently enrolled in a DEC, AEC, Certificate, or Bachelor's program in Computer Science or a related field, and eligible to take part in an internship program approved by the Ministry of Education.
• Excellent skills in writing high‑quality, clean code.
• Working knowledge of PHP, SQL, Docker, and Git/GitLab is an asset.
