Pixieset is hiring a Back End Software Developer to help build and evolve our growing platform, supporting over 1.6 million photographers and creative professionals worldwide. As a member of the Platform team, you'll work across the stack with a focus on backend systems - building the core services, APIs, and infrastructure that power our expanding product suite.

This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that are central to Pixieset’s continued growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as Backend Developer or Platform Engineer.
• Experience with PHP and frameworks (Laravel, Yii, or Symfony).
• Experience with JavaScript and ES6, Webpack.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong understanding of data structures and APIs, HTTP and cloud technologies (Docker, AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement product features across the full stack, with a focus on backend development.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to support scalable backend systems.
• Deliver user-facing improvements and backend optimizations across multiple codebases.
• Help improve and maintain the product architecture, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and solve complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Research and integrate new technologies to enhance performance, security, and development processes.
