Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and build cloud-native solutions on Azure, lead architectural decisions, and guide the full software development lifecycle in an Agile team.

You will work with Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and SQL Server; implement CI/CD via Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitHub Actions; and mentor teammates while leveraging telemetry tools like New Relic and Dynatrace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years back-end development in Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
• 5+ years experience deploying cloud-native solutions on Azure.
• 5+ years working with CI/CD via Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Proven experience in designing software systems and documenting with UML.
• Decision-driven, solution-oriented approach with clear professional judgment.
• Ability to communicate complex information within distributed teams; Java/Spring Boot familiarity is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure
• 5+ years working with solutions deployment via CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies
• Proven experience in designing software systems and documenting the design using tools such as UML
• An approach dedicated to finding solutions, with the ability to make sound professional decisions
• Ability to make complex information accessible and communicate easily within distributed teams
• Familiarity with Java and Java Spring Boot is an asset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Power BI is an asset.
• Experience in the financial industry (a plus).
• Proven track record of practical, thoughtful problem solving.
• Experience with JavaScript, React, and/or NodeJS would be an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$86,100.00 CAD - $136,100.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
