AgeCare Ltd. seeks a Health Care Aide to join our care team in a supportive facility. The role provides resident care under supervision of a Staff Nurse, focusing on comfort, safety and dignity, with emphasis on personal assistance and routine treatments.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the CLHA is required.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents per care plan and temperature controls.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and PPE.
• Feed/assist with meals and refer to care plan for diet.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to move about the facility and to dining areas.
• Accompany residents to social/therapy activities and to beauty parlor, physio, recreation.

**The Opportunity** A Health Care Aide (HCA) works as a member of the care team, collaborating on the delivery of resident care, to meet individual needs within the level of knowledge, skill sets & competency. The HCA, under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, applies this knowledge and these skills to provide a wide variety of safe and thorough basic care and services to residents. **What You Will Do*** Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote resident personal comfort and well-being according to strict water temperature control procedures.* Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet, using appropriate Engineering Controls (Ceiling Lifts, Mechanical Lifts) and Personal Protective Equipment Controls (Transfer Belt)**.*** Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times. Refer to care plan for appropriate diet to each resident.* Provide routine treatments (e.g. skin creams, bowel protocols) and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.* Assist residents to travel about the facility.* Assist residents to and from the Dining Room for meals.
