Job summary

AgeCare Mount Royal in Calgary, AB is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant to perform routine repairs, minor maintenance tasks and cleaning in a resident-centered environment.

You will handle doors, locks, plumbing basics, painting, and outdoor maintenance, while following safety guidelines and policies to support a safe, dignified living space for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Knowledge in Joint Occupational Health and Safety regulations aligned with WCB and CCAL Act.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs: doors, locks, window screens, blinds, light bulbs, sockets, switches.
• Perform basic plumbing: unclog drains, fix leaking faucets and toilets.
• Patch, paint, and caulk.
• Perform regular cleaning: sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming.
• Maintain outdoor areas and shovel snow and ice as required.
