GFL Environmental Inc. in Ottawa is seeking AZ/DZ licensed drivers to operate a variety of trucks, including combination units, power vacuum, hydro excavation, box trucks and roll‑off bins.

You will perform pre‑trip inspections, secure loads, maintain logs and paperwork, and deliver to customers with safety and regulatory compliance at the forefront.

Expect irregular hours with day shifts Monday‑Friday and on‑call weekends as needed.

Competenze

• AZ or DZ driver's license with a clean Driver's CVOR abstract.
• Ability to work irregular schedules, extended hours, and variable shifts.
• Mechanical knowledge and comfort with truck maintenance.

• Conduct periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery.
• Deliver products with proper paperwork to customers in a courteous manner.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer or mechanical issues.

GFL Environmental is looking for AZ/DZ licensed drivers for our location based out of Ottawa. We are an integrated environmental services company providing industrial, commercial, utilities, institutional, residential, and municipal customers with leading-edge solutions to a variety of environmental and waste-handling problems.

Successful candidates will drive & operate a variety of our industrial trucks/units, such as:

• Combination units.
• Power vacuum units,
• Hydro excavation units.
• Box trucks
• Roll-off bin units
• High-pressure water blasters.
• Tractor trailers (AZ/DZ drivers)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations.
• Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Record and maintain required documentation including driver logbook, bills of lading, manifests etc. by manual or electronic means.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
• Deliver to product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Manual is preferred but both auto/manual transmissions are a vailable Monday-Friday (for a day shift) and on-call every 4thweekend
• AZ or DZ driver’s license with a clean Driver’s and CVOR abstract.
• Ability to work an irregular work schedule (extended hours and variable shifts).
• Ability to work in a confined space environment and/or at heights.
• Mechanical knowledge.
