Key ResponsibilitiesDay in a life
A day in the life involves safely operating spreaders, plow wings, or combo units to maintain winter highways. Before starting, thorough pre-trip inspections are conducted, fuel usage is documented, and accurate records of winter operations are maintained. Throughout the day, heavy equipment like loaders, backhoes, and skid steers are operated and maintained, while light-duty tools are used as needed. Routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs are performed to ensure optimal functioning. Clear communication with supervisors and team members is essential, alongside strict adherence to safety protocols and prompt reporting of any incidents or traffic violations.
