Job summary

ELITS Canada Inc. is seeking an AWS Virtual Workplace Engineer to design, implement, and operate a modern Virtual Engineering Workplace hosted on AWS. You will deliver high-performance virtual desktops for engineering users with demanding workloads and work with cloud, infrastructure, and end users to ensure a reliable, secure experience.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, strong documentation, and a focus on security, cost, and performance across AWS services.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level experience designing, implementing, and supporting Virtual Engineering Workplace or virtual desktop infrastructure solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience delivering high-performance virtual desktop environments for engineering or high-performance workloads.
• Strong understanding of virtual desktop performance, including compute, GPU, storage, networking, latency, and capacity.
• Experience with AWS-hosted desktop solutions (WorkSpaces/EC2).
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support AWS-based virtual desktop environments for engineering workloads.
• Build and maintain high-performance virtual desktop solutions for graphics-intensive applications.
• Optimize platform performance across compute, graphics, storage, networking, and user experience.
• Support integration with identity, access management, security, and enterprise networks.
• Troubleshoot performance, availability, connectivity, and application issues.
• Monitor platform health, cost, and service availability; document procedures.
