Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking a school supervisor to provide supervision for students before and after school, during lunch and recess, ensuring safety and respectful conduct.

Qualifications include CPR and First Aid training and experience with children/adolescents; duties include reporting issues to the principal and adhering to centre policies. Salary is $21.21 per hour under NSGEU Local 73 terms; accommodations available on request to Kelsey Ogilvie.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative.
  • Bona fide occupational requirements of the position, including physical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision for students before and after school, during the lunch and recess breaks.
  • Familiarization of any medical or programs students may have (e.g. specific behaviour plans).
  • Report to the principal or designate any problem or discipline issue that occurred during supervision.
  • Other duties that are site specific (policies and protocol) and within the scope of responsibility of the position.

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance withthe Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit.

This position is subject to the Annual Layoff/Recall Process as per Articles 29 & 30 of the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Collective Agreement.
